The league phase of the UEFA Conference League 2025-2026 season has ended.
According to Medianews.az, 8 teams, including Ukraine's "Shakhtar," have directly advanced to the round of 16. In the round of 32, 16 teams, including Turkey's "Samsunspor" and Armenia's "Noah," will compete. 12 teams, including Ukraine's "Dynamo," have been eliminated from the tournament.
Six of the eight rounds of the Champions League and Europa League league phases have been played. To advance from these rounds consisting of 36 teams, at least the 24th place must be secured. It has been confirmed that 5 teams in the Champions League and 6 teams in the Europa League will continue the 2025-2026 season.
Azerbaijan's representative "Qarabağ" is ranked 22nd in the Champions League league phase.
In the 2025-2026 season, 96 teams from 34 UEFA members remain. Azerbaijan is ranked 28th among 55 members in UEFA’s updated club rankings. Turkey is 9th, Ukraine 24th, Russia 30th, Moldova 33rd, Armenia 34th, Kazakhstan 37th, Latvia 39th, Estonia 43rd, Lithuania 46th, Belarus 50th, and Georgia 53rd.
The ranking is based on coefficients earned over the last five seasons of club tournaments. In qualifying rounds, a win is worth 1 point, a draw half a point; in subsequent rounds, a win is worth 2 points and a draw 1 point.
Teams that reach the league phase of the Champions League receive 6 bonus points; teams ranking in the top 8 of that round get 6 bonus points, teams placing 9th-16th get 4 bonus points, teams placing 17th-24th get 2 bonus points, and from the round of 16 onward, each stage awards 1.5 bonus points.
Teams placing in the top 8 of the Europa League league phase receive 6 bonus points; those placing 9th-16th get 4 bonus points, and those placing 17th-24th get 2 bonus points. From the round of 16 onward, each stage awards 1 bonus point.
In the Conference League league phase, teams placing in the top 8 receive 4 bonus points; those placing 9th-16th get 2 bonus points, and those placing 17th-24th get 1 bonus point. From the round of 16 onward, each stage awards 0.5 bonus points.
The total points are divided by the number of country clubs granted access to continental tournaments, and the coefficient is calculated with an accuracy of one-thousandth. Azerbaijan has earned a coefficient of 5.125 this season.
