Birth, marriage, and divorce How much has it decreased?

As of November 1, 2025, the population of Azerbaijan has reached 10,256,998 people. The State Statistical Committee, which issued the report, states that from January to October, 80,802 births, 49,846 deaths, 40,739 marriages, and 17,254 divorces were registered.

Compared to the January-October period of 2024, it is reported that births decreased by 5.9 percent, marriages by 2 percent, and divorces by 4.8 percent.

According to Medianews.az, in the first ten months of 2025, the natural increase (birth-death ratio) in Azerbaijan was 4.3 per 1,000 people. In 1991, when state independence was restored, the natural increase was 20.4 per 1,000 people; in 1992, 17.9; in 1993, 16.5; in 1994, 14.1; in 2011, 13.5; in 2012, 13; in 2013, 12.8; in 2010, 12.5; and in 1995 and 2014, 12.2 per 1,000 people.

In 2015, it was 11.7; in 2007, 11.5; in 2008, 11.4; in 2006 and 2009, 11.3; in 1997, 11; in 2005, 10.7; in 1996 and 2016, 10.6; in 1998, 10; in 2004, 9.9; in 1999, 9; in 2017, 8.9; in 2000, 8.8; in 2019, 8.6; in 2018, 8.4; in 2001, 8.1; in 2002, 8; in 2003, 7.9; in 2022, 6.2; in 2023, 5.2; in 2020, 5.1; in 2024, 4.2; and in 2021, 3.5 per 1,000 people, the figure ended with natural increases respectively.
