Trump's next defeat

In the mayoral elections held in Miami, Florida, USA, the Democratic Party won for the first time in 28 years. Democrat Eileen Higgins defeated Emiliano Gonzalez, the Republican Party candidate supported by President Donald Trump, by a 19% margin (59-40).

Commenting on the issue to Medianews.az, political analyst Shahin Jafarli said that traditionally Florida votes for the Republican candidate in presidential elections: “Miami is the second largest city in the state. In the last mayoral elections, the Republicans won by exactly a 67% margin. However, Trump is currently so unpopular that votes for Democrats have increased considerably in 'red' states. This increases the likelihood of a 'blue wave' in the 2026 Congressional elections.

Donald Trump is currently forcing Ukraine into an unfavorable peace together with Russian President Vladimir Putin and is trying to create a success story for himself. Given that the Ukrainian army continues to resist successfully on the front and none of the cities that Putin claimed to have 'taken' in Donbas have been occupied, the US administration's position on this matter is unethical and unacceptable.”
