US President Donald Trump once again announced the commencement of ground operations against drug cartels in Latin America.
Medianews.az, referring to Publika.az, reports that Trump claimed drug traffickers effectively control neighboring Mexico. The White House chief noted that the US has closed 97 drug trafficking routes coming via waterways.
In an interview with Sean Hannity on “Fox News,” Trump stated: “We will now begin to strike the cartels on land. Drug cartels operate in Mexico. It is very sad to see what has happened to that country.”
At the same time, Trump did not specify a particular timeframe for the start of such attacks. It is worth noting that Trump had previously spoken about ground attacks against drug cartels and emphasized that the operation would not be limited to Venezuela alone.
