Wood prices continue to rise in the global commodity market.
Medianews.az reports that the price of lumber futures has reached the highest level in the last 34 weeks.
According to market data, the price of wood has risen to 633.50 US dollars per 1000 board feet. This indicator is approximately equal to 268 US dollars per 1 cubic meter.
According to the information, lumber prices have increased by 6.31 percent over the last 4 weeks. Over the last 12 months, the increase in wood prices has amounted to 2.68 percent.
It should be noted that wood materials are mainly imported to our country from Russia. Although global market processes have less impact on Russia, the role of psychological factors in prices is also significant.
So, what are the prices like in our country's wood market?
Regarding this matter, a businessman named Elmidar, operating in the "Wood Market" in Darnagul, stated that it is the peak time of the construction season:
"Therefore, there is an increase in the price of most construction materials. The situation with wood materials is as follows. If the 18-grade plank used to be sold for 25-26 manats, it is now offered for 30 manats. The 10-grade plank is offered for 22 manats, and the 15-grade plank for 25 manats.
The price of one cubic meter of 2-grade wood is currently 330 manats. One cubic meter of 5-grade wood is offered for 320 manats. This means that in the last few months, the price of one cubic meter of wood has increased by 15-20 manats. Planks have increased by 17-18 percent"
