By the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, together with the State Service for Mobilization and Military Service, the efforts to prevent illegal actions of some officials of this Service and to carry out comprehensive, systematic, and consistent measures against such detected violations continue.
Medianews.az reports that, based on information received from the Service and obtained as a result of operational-search measures carried out by the Main Department for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General, criminal cases have been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan concerning the illegal actions of officials of the Service’s Qaradağ district office, and the Saatlı, Jabrayil, and Ağdaş district branches.
As a result of the investigation and operational-search measures, there are substantial suspicions that officials of these offices and branches accepted various amounts of bribes for purposes such as exempting certain individuals from participation in military training gatherings related to their official duties, granting deferment from military service, not applying exit restrictions from the country, and similar aims.
Based on the collected evidence, charges have been brought under the respective articles 311.3.1, 311.3.2, and 311.3.3 (repeated acceptance of a considerable amount of bribes by a group of persons acting in concert) of the Criminal Code against Nurlan Abbasov, head of the Ağdaş district branch of the Service; Shahlar Usubaliyev, head of the conscription division of the same branch; Taleh Ismayilov, officer of the conscription division of the same branch; Murad Ahmadov, head of the Saatlı district branch of the Service; Araz Kerimli, officer of the mobilization preparation and mobilization division of the same branch; Niyam Madatsoylu, deputy head of the Jabrayil district branch and head of the mobilization preparation and mobilization division; Etibar Aliyev and Shamil Aliyev, officers of the mobilization preparation and mobilization division of the Qaradağ district office. Based on the motions of the investigative body and the submissions of the prosecutor supervising the preliminary investigation, the Baku Military Court decided to impose pre-trial detention (main) and removal from office (additional) preventive measures against them.
With the continuation of necessary investigative and operational measures in the criminal case, the prosecution of other persons guilty of committing illegal acts will also be ensured.//Milli.Az
