Romanian fighters were urgently scrambled into the air

On November 19, Romania's Ministry of Defense urgently scrambled fighter jets due to the entry of a drone into the country's airspace.

Medianews.az reports that the incident occurred during another attack by the Russian army on Ukraine's border areas – particularly on infrastructure facilities located opposite Romania.

Romania is a member of both the European Union and NATO and shares a 650-kilometer border with Ukraine. In recent months, due to Moscow's attacks along the Dniester River and the Danube basin, remnants of Russian drones have repeatedly fallen on Romanian territory.

Official Bucharest has declared that an investigation into the airspace violation is underway, and observation and defense mechanisms in the region have been strengthened.
