The snowy weather conditions observed in the country over the past few days have also affected prices in the markets.
Salespeople engaged in the sale of agricultural products at the "8th kilometer market" told Milli.Az about this.
According to them, the snowy weather conditions have affected the supply and transportation of products, resulting in price increases for some products. This has mainly been recorded in the prices of potatoes, onions, and tomatoes, which are used daily. In addition, there has been an increase in the prices of cheese and butter.
Currently, regardless of the region from which the potatoes are brought, the price per kilogram has increased by 20-30 qapiks, and the price of onions has increased by 20 qapiks. The price of cheese and butter has increased by 30-50 qapiks per kilogram. However, the sellers noted that prices would decrease after the weather improves.
Economist expert Khalid Karimli stated that the price increase of some agricultural products is seasonal.
"That is, these products are stored in warehouses or grown in greenhouses and brought to the market. One of the main issues is the 10 percent increase in diesel fuel from January 1. This is the main reason," the expert noted.
