Pashinyan called on the intelligence agency

Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has called the fight against drug trafficking one of the main tasks of the special service agencies and emphasized the importance of strengthening the potential of the National Security Service (NSS).

According to information provided by "Report" citing Armenian media, he made this statement during a visit to the NSS on the occasion of their professional holiday.

According to Pashinyan, the special service agencies should not be content with combatting isolated cases and local sources, but should focus on identifying and preventing centers of drug trafficking.

He also noted that Armenia buys weapons and military equipment but hopes to avoid using them:

"We buy weapons and military equipment hoping never to use them. This is extremely important because the National Security Service must have very strong components. Its special forces must possess enormous capabilities. However, avoiding the need to use force should be the main task of the NSS."
