In his post-vote statement, Pashinyan spoke about Azerbaijan.

"Democracy always works for regional cooperation and is a means for peace."

Medianews.az reports that these words were spoken by Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today in an interview with journalists after the voting.

Responding to a question about how the elections will affect the region, Pashinyan said: "I am confident in our region's peaceful future because fortunately, we have peace with Azerbaijan and very deep relations with Georgia. I expect that we will have diplomatic relations with Turkey. I am sure that in the near future, railway and highways will also be opened with Turkey. The TRIPP project is a game-changing project that will benefit all countries in our region. It is beneficial for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, and Iran."

He stated that he does not see tension in relations with Russia and that it is artificial: "Relations with Russia have institutional depth and are based on mutual respect. Some forces operating in Armenia try to create tension in the relations. This does not arise simply because we have very close relations with the Russian president," Pashinyan emphasized.

It should be recalled that today parliamentary elections are being held in Armenia, with the participation of 18 political forces - 2 blocs and 16 parties.
