A lottery participant from the Rhineland-Palatinate state in Germany has won more than 700,000 euros in the "Eurojackpot". The interesting point is this: the man had already passed away during the draw. According to information provided by the "Lotto24" company, he won in the draw dated March 10.
According to the company's statement, this unusual incident was made possible thanks to an active game subscription. That is, the lottery ticket purchased by the person while alive remained valid even after his death. The prize of 703,600 euros coincided with the period when the subscription was still active. Thus, the ticket holder's name suddenly appeared on the list of winners.
The "Lotto24" company announced that since the prize has turned into part of the inheritance, it should be given to the deceased's heirs. The verification process has already been completed. The amount will reach the widow.
In "Eurojackpot", players select five numbers out of 50 and additionally two "Euro numbers". This lottery is played in several European countries and the draw is held twice a week.
