The "Neftçi" club has strengthened its squad with a new football player.
Medianews.az reports that the capital's representative has transferred Slovak national team forward Lyubomir Tupta. A 2+1 year contract has been signed with the 28-year-old player. He will wear the number 29 jersey in the team.
Playing as a central forward, and also able to play as a winger on both flanks, Tupta most recently wore the jersey of Greece's AEL club. In the 2025/2026 season in the Greek championship, he scored 8 goals in 35 matches and provided 3 assists.
The Slovak player has also played in the championships of Italy, Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic during his career.
Lyubomir Tupta has been called up to the Slovak national team since 2023. So far, he has played in 21 matches for the national team.
