Ford company has decided to recall more than 59 thousand vehicles due to a motor block heater defect found in some of its models. According to the announcement by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), this defect poses a serious risk that could lead to fire hazards.
According to Milli.Az, the motor block heaters in some Ford vehicles crack, causing coolant leakage. This leakage can cause a short circuit and increase the likelihood of a fire in the engine compartment of the vehicle.
The recall list from Ford includes Lincoln MKC, Explorer, Fusion, Bronco Sport, and Maverick models. The company stated that so far there have been no reports of any accidents or injuries related to this defect.
To prevent potential danger, Ford advised vehicle owners to contact official service centers for a free inspection. If the defect is detected, the motor block heaters will be replaced.
Experts recommend that vehicle owners whose vehicles are on the recall list check their chassis numbers (VIN) on Ford's official website.
Also, if unusual signs such as coolant leakage or burnt smell are noticed in the vehicle, it is important to stop the engine immediately.
