A female clerk working in a courthouse in Istanbul, Turkey, claims that a person she met on social media is blackmailing her.
Medianews.az reports that the person allegedly deceived her to obtain money and later blackmailed her with secretly recorded footage.
According to the information, a clerk named M.A. met a person named Halil Kızmaz, who introduced himself as "Kenan" on social media two years ago. After a while, a close relationship developed between the parties. According to allegations, Kızmaz convinced the woman by promising high profits through foreign investment websites and took a total of 232 thousand Turkish liras at different times.
It is reported that moments when the parties were together in a room at the courthouse where one of them worked were secretly filmed by Halil Kızmaz on a phone. After the woman asked for the money back, she claimed to have been blackmailed with that footage. The messages reportedly stated that if she did not withdraw her complaint, the footage would be sent to her family and relatives.
The suspect Halil Kızmaz denied the accusations. Although he said the phone number belonged to him, he stated that he did not remember the messages allegedly sent and claimed that the person in the footage was not him.
According to the information, Kızmaz had previously been convicted on blackmail charges. The prosecution has opened a criminal case against him on suspicion of "blackmail," and the investigation is ongoing.
