On January 24, a terrible murder occurred in the Maştağa settlement of the Sabunçu district of the capital. Emil Ağayev, born in 1981, is accused of brutally killing his mother, Həyat Ağayeva, born in 1959.
On the day of the incident, he stayed at his mother-in-law's house with his wife. In the morning, he came home and sent a taxi to his mother's workplace, asking her to return. When Həyat Ağayeva arrived home, he stabbed her and ended her life.
"They were such a family that no one can believe this act. His mother was an honorable woman. Emil was a devout Muslim. No one had any grievances against them," a neighbor said while talking about the incident.
Another neighbor stated that Emil Ağayev was a drug user.
