On the night of January 30, a road traffic accident occurred in the city of Gazakh on Baku Street, resulting in a "Kia Sorento" car crashing into a roadside fence and overturning.
Unikal reports that, in addition to the driver, the car also carried Suleyman Asif oglu Akhundov, who works as an assistant to the head of the Gazakh District Executive Authority and was intoxicated.
On the same day, video footage depicting the aforementioned car accident was circulated on social networks. During investigations, it was determined that S. Akhundov concealed the incident and did not provide any information about the accident to the District Executive Authority.
Based on the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Ethical Behavior Rules of Civil Servants," S. Akhundov was found to have grossly violated the rules of ethical behavior, admitted that he was unfit to work in civil service and that he made a mistake. A decision was made to release him from his position on January 30, 2026, upon his own request.
