Astronomers of the international "Event Horizon Telescope" (EHT) project plan to record the first video of a black hole in March-April.
Axar.az reports that the "Guardian" publication released information citing Professor Sergi Markoff, professor of astronomy and experimental philosophy at the University of Cambridge.
According to the information, astronomers have selected a cosmic object with the size of the Solar System and a mass of 6 billion Suns for the shooting.
"Currently, astronomers are preparing to record the movement of a supermassive black hole for the first time," the publication stated.
The publication noted that the "Event Horizon Telescope" is a network consisting of 12 radio telescopes located worldwide, from Antarctica to Spain and Korea. In 2019, astronomers of this project published the first-ever image of the shadow of a black hole in the world.
