Blood group with a high risk of diabetes was announced

A large-scale study conducted in France has revealed that there may be a connection between certain blood groups and type 2 diabetes.

According to Medianews.az, the study's results indicate that the blood group with the highest risk of developing diabetes is B positive, while the blood group with the lowest risk is considered to be O negative.

The study, which analyzed the health data of over 82,000 people, showed that individuals with blood group O have a lower likelihood of developing type 2 diabetes compared to other blood groups.

According to the findings, the risk of diabetes in individuals with blood group A was approximately 10 percent higher, and in blood group B it was 21 percent higher. When considering the Rh factor, it was reported that people with B positive blood group have a 35 percent higher chance of developing the disease compared to those with O negative blood group.

Experts believe that antigens present in certain blood groups may enhance chronic inflammatory processes and insulin resistance in the body. Additionally, it is suggested that the blood group may affect the gut microbiota and play a role in sugar metabolism.

Scientists emphasize that blood group cannot be changed, but individuals in the risk group should pay greater attention to healthy nutrition, physical activity, and regular medical check-ups.//Milli.Az
