Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi went on an official visit to China and met with his counterpart Wang Yi.
Medianews.az reports that after the meeting, the Chinese side declared that Iran's right to peacefully use nuclear energy is legal.
The parties discussed both bilateral relations and the regional and global situation.
Araghchi highly appreciated China's position and stated that Iran will only accept a "just and comprehensive agreement." He considered military actions against his country as violations of international law and emphasized that they will protect national interests in the negotiations.
Wang Yi said the situation in the region is at a critical stage, noted the necessity of achieving a complete ceasefire, and called on the parties for direct talks.
The visit took place against the backdrop of Iran-US tensions and discussions around the nuclear program and is considered a diplomatically important step.
