The balance of calcium in the body is vital for healthy bones, teeth, and overall metabolism, but some foods can cause its levels to decrease. Experts state that calcium deficiency can lead to serious health problems in the long term, including bone weakness and other disorders.
Medianews.az, citing Foodinfo.az, reports that excessive consumption of some common products can accelerate the "washing out" of calcium from the body.
In particular, palm oil, excessive coffee, and sugary foods are listed among the main factors negatively affecting calcium balance because these products make it difficult to absorb the mineral and can speed up its loss. Additionally, strict and uncontrolled diets can sharply reduce calcium levels, as the body, under stress, takes essential minerals from the bones to try to preserve vital functions. As a result, unpleasant conditions such as hair loss, brittle nails, and dental problems may occur.
Experts emphasize that it is a better approach to balance the intake of such products rather than completely avoiding them. At the same time, it is important to include calcium-rich foods in the daily diet, especially dairy products, legumes, greens, and fish, which play a significant role in this regard. Furthermore, it is recommended to take calcium together with vitamin D for better absorption, and this approach effectively supports bone health protection.
