Today, Eid al-Adha is being celebrated in Azerbaijan.
"Report" informs that Eid al-Adha begins every year in the entire Muslim world on the 10th day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah according to the Hijri calendar.
This year, the corresponding date according to the Gregorian calendar is May 27.
Today, Eid prayers will be held in all mosques across the country.
The Eid prayer in Baku is scheduled for 08:00 at the Ajderbey mosque and at 09:00 at the Taza Pir mosque.
In connection with the holiday, the sacrifice can be made today and tomorrow. The sacrifices will be performed in accordance with Sharia rules at special locations allocated by the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency in Baku and its surroundings, as well as in the country's regions, under the supervision of the clergy of the Caucasus Muslims Board.
After Azerbaijan restored its independence, based on the law on holidays of the Azerbaijan Republic dated October 27, 1992, adopted by the National Assembly, Eid al-Adha is celebrated as a state holiday in Azerbaijan.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers' decision, this year May 27 and 28 have been designated as the days of Eid al-Adha.
