The passenger plane scheduled from Moscow to Baku was unable to take off on time due to safety reasons. The incident occurred at one of the main airports in the capital – Domodedovo, and the flight was temporarily postponed.
Bakupost.az reports that according to sources close to Russia's aviation structures, the decision was related to additional safety measures applied in the airspace. In recent days, against the backdrop of increased risks related to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Moscow and surrounding regions, airport regimes have been tightened, and restrictions have been placed on the takeoff-landing of several flights.
"Interfax" reports that "Rosaviatsiya" has issued instructions to delay some flights or change their routes to ensure the safety of civil aviation. Within these restrictions, the flight towards Baku has also been temporarily suspended. Information about the situation was provided to the aircraft crew and passengers, and the flight is planned to be carried out in the following hours.
The Russian Ministry of Defense, in its recent statements, said that UAVs detected over several regions of the country were neutralized by air defense systems. Russian media notes that after such incidents, the application of temporary restrictions for civil aviation at the Moscow air hub has become a usual practice.
Currently, the exact time when the flight to Baku will be resumed is being clarified. Representatives of the airline stated that passenger safety is the main priority and emphasized that all decisions are made in accordance with the instructions of the relevant state authorities.
