In Germany's New Year lottery, 21 people won at least one million euros.
According to "Report," citing the "Bild" newspaper, many state lottery companies held special draws on the eve of the New Year.
This time, the chance to win a million euros was higher than on ordinary days. Currently, the names of at least 21 winners are known, and each of them received a prize of one million euros.
"On New Year's Eve, the most millionaires were recorded in Baden-Württemberg (a federal state located in the southwest of Germany) - 12 people," said Viktoria Kesper, a representative of the "Lotto Baden-Württemberg" company, to "Bild." According to her, this is a record number of millionaire winners registered in one day in the company's history.
Additionally, Kesper stated that during the year 2025, 43 people won one million euros, which is also a new record for "Lotto Baden-Württemberg."
It was noted that lotteries were organized by separate companies in different federal states of the country. On the eve of the New Year - December 31, 20 people won, and on January 1, one person became a winner.
