Assistant to the President of Russia, Vladimir Medinski, has proposed changes to the higher education system.
Medianews.az, citing Publika.az, reports that he suggested the implementation of a compulsory distribution system for students studying at the government's expense.
According to Medinski, graduates educated with state funds, especially doctors, should work in regions for a certain period after their education.
Students studying on a paid basis will be able to freely choose their jobs. Medinski evaluated the current higher education system as a "model stuck between socialism and capitalism" and emphasized the importance of adapting graduates to the labor market.
