The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has released information about the condition of Azerbaijani citizens injured as a result of the shelling of ships in the Sea of Azov.
According to the information provided to Medianews.az by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, immediately following the news that our citizens had been killed and injured as a result of a drone attack on cargo ships in the Sea of Azov on June 5, employees of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation immediately set out to the area.
"Staff of the Consular Section of the Embassy are currently in the city of Yeysk and are providing appropriate consular assistance alongside the injured and rescued Azerbaijani citizens. The condition of the injured is good, and it is planned that several of them will be discharged from the hospital in a short time.
Within the framework of search and rescue operations carried out by the relevant authorities of the Russian Federation, identification of the deceased and other necessary measures continue.
At the same time, necessary steps are being taken to carry out the documentation process for the rescued Azerbaijani citizens, to provide them with return certificates, and to organize their return to the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is keeping the issue under special control and is coordinating closely with relevant agencies.
Additional information will be provided to the public regarding the identities of the deceased and the transfer of their bodies to our country," the statement said.
