Ukrainian defenders are holding their positions in the center of Pokrovsk city and have cleared Russian soldiers from the areas around the railway station, pedagogical technical school, and "Soborny" square. The Russians are unable to establish themselves in the city.
AZERTAC reports that this information was released on the Telegram channel of the 7th Airborne Assault Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Ukrainian defense forces are holding the enemy and conducting search and strike operations to destroy the Russians in Pokrovsk. Our positions in the city center are being held, firefights continue, and the enemy cannot hold ground," stated the Airborne Assault Corps.
Attack groups, in cooperation with other units in the responsibility zone of the 7th Airborne Assault Corps, continue to be deployed to eliminate the enemy in the city center.
It is noted that this has allowed preventing the Russian army’s attempts to strengthen its forces in the northern part of the city. Attempts to cross to the northern part of the city by railway lead to maximum losses for the Russian army.
It should be recalled that Pokrovsk city has long been a center of fighting in Donetsk region. Russia, using unfavorable weather conditions, especially dense fog, has infiltrated Pokrovsk city in Donetsk region. Currently, there are more than 300 Russian soldiers in the city.
