Turkey's national team head coach Vincenzo Montella gave a statement after the DÇ-2026 group stage match against Australia (0:2).
The Italian specialist stated that the team did not achieve the desired result in offense.
Montella drew attention to the problem of consistency: “When there is no consistency, you inevitably cannot perform at full capacity. Today we tried everything, we just missed our goal.”
The head coach said he was not dissatisfied with the team's struggle, but they lacked the final touch:
“The players worked hard, there was desire on the field. We tried different options in attack. We just needed to be more precise in the final strike.”
Montella emphasized that the struggle in the tournament continues:
