US President Donald Trump has signed an order enabling the imposition of additional tariffs on goods coming from countries that import goods or services from Iran to the US.
Medianews.az reports that the order was issued by the White House.
According to the document, "An additional 25 percent ad valorem tariff may be applied to goods imported into the US from any country that directly or indirectly receives, imports or otherwise purchases goods or services from Iran."
These measures come into effect on February 7.
The document states that the Washington administration considers it necessary to extend the previously officially declared state of emergency in the US to justify other economic measures against Iran. The order emphasizes that Iran's policy continues to "pose an unusual and extraordinary threat" to the US.
