"Iran is in trouble".
Milli.Az reports that this was stated by US President Donald Trump while answering a question regarding Iran.
He expressed that the situation in the country is serious: "It has been observed that the people in some cities in Iran have taken control, and this was not possible a few weeks ago."
Trump emphasized that the US is closely monitoring the situation and said they want the safety of protesters in Iran. He addressed the Iranian leadership, warning against the use of force against demonstrators:
"I tell the Iranian leaders, it would be better if you do not open fire. Because we could also start firing."
It should be recalled that protests in Iran began at the end of December 2025 due to the devaluation of the local currency, the rial. Following this, the head of the Central Bank of Iran, Mohammad Farzin, resigned. Abdolnaser Hemmati was appointed in his place.
