US President Donald Trump has openly declared that Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has died and called it the "triumph of justice."
Medianews.az, citing Musavat.com, reports that in a lengthy statement, Trump described Khamenei as "one of the most evil people in history" and said that his death is not only justice for the Iranian people but also "justice for Americans and other citizens of countries who have been killed or maimed by Khamenei and his bloodthirsty gang."
The US president emphasized that Khamenei was unable to evade American intelligence and "high-level surveillance systems." He announced that Khamenei and other high-ranking leaders alongside him were neutralized in an operation carried out in close cooperation with Israel.
In his statement, Trump said that this event represents "the greatest opportunity to reclaim the country" for the Iranian people. According to him, part of Iran's IRGC (Sepah), army, and other security structures now no longer want to fight and are seeking "immunity" from the US. Reiterating his previous statement, the president said: "They can get immunity now, but later they will only get death."
At the same time, Trump stressed that bombings carried out on Iranian territory will continue. According to him, "heavy and targeted strikes" will persist throughout the week or until peace is achieved in the Middle East and the world.
It should be recalled that recent days saw reports in the US media claiming that Trump had "precise information" about Khamenei's death. Earlier, in an interview with NBC, he said he "considered the reports of Khamenei's death reliable." Now, the US president has already come forward directly and decisively with the statement "Khamenei is killed."
The Iranian side, however, has officially not confirmed this information and stated that Khamenei is "commanding in the field." Nevertheless, Trump's latest statement has further heightened tensions in the region.
Military-political processes in the Middle East are changing rapidly, and the international community is closely watching the next phase of events.
