US President Donald Trump did not request a ceasefire in his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin until a full agreement is reached in Ukraine.
Medianews.az reports that this was stated by Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
He noted that Washington has accepted Moscow's position and uses the term "ceasefire" in its proper sense.
Peskov said that such a condition has not been set by the US: "This has been discussed repeatedly. All modalities related to the ceasefire are well understood. President Putin's consistent position is also known to everyone."
The Kremlin spokesman stated that Moscow appreciates Washington's mediation efforts in the Ukraine settlement and is interested in the continuation of this process: "Putin highly values the US's mediation efforts in the Ukraine settlement. We are thankful for this and interested in the continuation of this process."
Peskov also added that the US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff is constantly in contact with his Russian counterparts: "This allows dialogue on the most sensitive issues. This communication channel really allows us to send each other signals on the most sensitive issues." //Bakıvaxtı.az
