Yesterday, at approximately 12:10, a short circuit occurred in the intermediate cable of the "Ulduz-Nərimanov" section of the Baku metro, resulting in an interruption in the supply of voltage to the contact network. As a result, until 15:00, temporary restrictions were applied on passenger entry at all stations of the Baku Metro, causing problems for thousands of passengers in their travel.
Medianews.az reports, citing Qaynarinfo, that Vusal Aslanov, chairman of Baku Metro JSC, dismissed several officials from their positions due to the incident and issued reprimands to some others.
The press secretary of Baku Metro JSC, Bakhtiyar Mammadov, responded regarding the matter as follows:
"A technical investigation is currently underway concerning the incident."
The press secretary also stated that going forward, decisions will be made in "Baku Metro" to ensure the movement of trains, the safety of passengers, and most importantly, to prevent such an incident from recurring.
