Political analyst Məhəmməd Əsədullazadə believes that US President Donald Trump is exerting military pressure on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky through Russia.
M. Əsədullazadə said this to Medianews.az while commenting on the meeting Trump and Zelensky held on December 29 at the Mar-a-Lago residence in the state of Florida.

The expert emphasized that Moscow did not allow this meeting to bear fruit: "Russia is not interested in peace talks. As is known, before the meeting in Florida, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with Trump on the phone. It was this phone call that worked against Ukraine."
According to M. Əsədullazadə, the Russia-Ukraine war is entering a new phase: "Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov revealed that Ukrainian drones targeted Putin's residence and emphasized that there would be a response. In fact, Russia has declared that it has withdrawn from the negotiation process. Actually, at a time when negotiations were continuing intensively, Zelensky could not have given such an attack order so as not to anger Trump.
Zelensky is not making territorial concessions, and Trump is pressuring him because of this. The presidents of the US and Russia have taken joint action to weaken the position of the Ukrainian President and to make him agree to concessions. If Russia strikes government buildings of Ukraine and the Presidential Palace, the scale of the war will change. This means serious pressures for European countries.
