In a period when energy costs are increasing, many people are looking for alternative heating methods. The "Passive House" technology, which is becoming popular worldwide, and some natural heating methods prove that it is possible to keep the house warm like a thermos without the need for any external energy source.
Milli.Az presents these methods:
1. Maximum use of solar energy
The basis of this system is the sun. The architectural structure of the house is designed in such a way that sunlight enters through the windows throughout the day and heats the interior walls and floor. The special materials used retain this heat and slowly release it into the room after the sun sets.
2. Super Insulation (Thermal insulation)
The biggest secret to heating the house without electricity is perfect insulation. Walls, roof, and floor are covered with very thick and high-quality insulation layers. Thus, the heat generated inside (even from human body heat and the warmth of food in the kitchen) does not leak outside. These houses can maintain a stable internal temperature even in minus 20-degree frost.
3. Triple-glazed windows
Ordinary windows are the main source of heat loss. However, the special triple-glazed windows used in this system, with argon gas between the panes, completely prevent cold air from entering. The windows function like a transparent wall.
4. Heat-recovering ventilation (Recuperator)
While ventilating the house, special ventilation systems are used to prevent the warm indoor air from going out and being wasted. These devices warm the cold air coming from outside by contacting it with the warm air going out from inside. Thus, the house always receives fresh but already warmed air.
5. Thermal mass principle
Materials such as brick, concrete, or stone are used inside the house. These materials act as "thermal mass"; they store heat and return it to the room when the temperature drops. This creates a natural radiator function inside the house.
