The Azerbaijani team "Qarabağ" has advanced to the round of 1/16 finals in the UEFA Champions League for the 2025-2026 season. In that stage, "Qarabağ" will face either PSG (France) or Newcastle (England).
Medianews.az reports that if "Qarabağ" reaches the round of 1/8 finals, one of the teams "Barcelona" (Spain) or "Chelsea" (England) will be their opponent.
The 1/16 finals will take place from February 17-25, and the 1/8 finals from March 10-18.
The season's final (May 30) has been scheduled to take place in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
"Qarabağ" has previously participated in the main stages of club tournaments 11 times.
In the seasons 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021, the team played in the group stage of the Europa League; in the 2017-2018 season in the group stage of the Champions League; and in the 2024-2025 season in the league stage of the Europa League.
In the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons, "Qarabağ" reached the round of 1/16 finals of the Conference League, and in the 2023-2024 season, advanced to the round of 1/8 finals of the Europa League.
Founded in 1951 in the city of Agdam, "Qarabağ" (which has also borne the names "Məhsul", "Şəfəq", "Kooperator") has been champion of the Azerbaijan SSR once and champion of independent Azerbaijan 12 times, and has won the Azerbaijan Cup 8 times.
