President Ilham Aliyev in Baku carrying household waste becoming familiar with the techniques

On March 2, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, familiarized himself with household waste transporting machinery in the yard of the Baku Expo Center.

Medianews.az reports that these machines, produced at the Ganja Automobile Plant upon the order of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, will be sent to various cities and districts of our country.

The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Rashad Ismayilov, and Khanlar Fatiyev, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the "Ganja Automobile Plant" Production Union, informed the head of our state about the project.

It was noted that a total of 70 municipal machines, each with a capacity of 22 cubic meters, have been produced within the project framework. It is planned to send the municipal machinery from two assembly sites – in front of the Expo Center in Baku city and in the yard of the automobile plant in Ganja city – to 58 cities and districts of Azerbaijan.

In Azerbaijan, alongside the capital Baku, projects aimed at developing our regions, creating modern social infrastructure including parks, green and forest belts there, and thereby improving the overall ecological situation of our country, are continuously being implemented. In this regard, sending households waste transporting machinery to our cities and districts combines several important factors. First of all, this will contribute to improving the quality of municipal services in the regions and enhancing the sanitary and hygienic conditions. Thus, modern new machinery will ensure the timely and efficient transportation of household waste and enable higher-quality cleaning works in residential areas. Additionally, the project plays an important role in environmental protection. Another important aspect of the project is that these machines are locally produced. In total, a large number of tractors, combines, other agricultural machinery, passenger and freight vehicles, and other equipment have been produced at the Ganja Automobile Plant so far.

It should be noted that the foundation of the Ganja Automobile Plant was laid in 1986 on the initiative of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. In 2004, upon the order of President Ilham Aliyev, this manufacturing enterprise began operating. Currently, about 500 workers are employed at the plant.
