Based on research published by "WION," the world's population could reach 12.4 billion by the late 2070s of this century. This will place significant pressure on Earth's resources.
Calculations have shown that if all people lived "within ecological limits and at a comfortable, economically secured standard of living," the global population could increase by an additional 2.5 billion people. The aim of the study was to understand the impact of the growing population on food security, climate stability, and human welfare.
Scientists analyzed global demographic data spanning over two centuries and used ecological development models to track changes in population numbers and growth trends.
The results were quite alarming. According to the study, the Earth is already giving a "clear biological signal." This indicates that the planet is under excessive pressure and that humans are using more resources than it can provide.
