By 2030, a new passage to the station will be provided after the construction of the B5 station, which will be located parallel to the "Nizami" station on the purple line, is completed.
Medianews.az reports, citing Trend, that this was stated today by Məmməd Rzayev, Deputy Head of the Construction Projects Management Department of "Baku Metro" JSC, in his statement to journalists.
According to him, the metro's "Nizami" station has only one exit, meaning there is no alternative exit for the repair of the escalators. "Nizami" is considered a deep-level station.
"B5 and 'Nizami' stations are two stations located close to each other in the same area. B5 will be located under Central Park. From there, there will be a passage to the 'Nizami' station. Thus, in the future, during the replacement of escalators at the 'Nizami' metro station, there will be no need to close the station entirely. Passengers will be able to freely exit to the Central Park area via an alternative route," he said.
