Niva returns: The new design dazzled - PHOTO

It is claimed that the legendary off-road vehicle, which has been in production since the Soviet era, is preparing to return to the roads with a completely renewed design and modern SUV lines.

According to Milli.Az, the iconic Russian model "Lada Niva" has come back into the spotlight in a completely renewed version along with leaked new patent images. The shared designs show that the vehicle could take on a more modern SUV identity and even bear similarities in design language with "Dacia" models. It is claimed that this similarity is not a coincidence. Among the most striking details in the images are the round headlight design referring to the classic "Niva" and the angular, sturdy body structure. Additionally, the vehicle has gained a more contemporary appearance very close to today’s SUV design concept with more muscular fenders, a raised shoulder line, and modern LED lighting.

It is suggested that the project was initially developed during the period of cooperation with "Renault." However, it is reported that after Renault's withdrawal from the Russian market, the work has continued entirely with local engineering capabilities.

While the new model was planned to be built on the CMF-B platform of "Renault-Dacia," some sources say that the vehicle could come with an architecture derived from the "Lada Vesta" base instead. In engine selections, it is expected that "AvtoVAZ"’s existing 1.6 and 1.8-liter gasoline units will be featured.

While the "Lada Niva Legend" has been in production almost unchanged since 1977, the "Lada Niva Travel" has been on the market since 1998 and has been improved with various updates over the years. In addition to this series, "Lada"'s new SUV offensive is expected to include the presentation of the "Lada Azimut" model within this year.
