The England national team was subjected to theft at the 2026 World Cup.
Medianews.az reports, referring to oxu.az, that the "Daily Mail" publication has released information about this.
The publication notes that the boots belonging to the team's main stars were stolen along with the official balls of the tournament and important training equipment. According to the information, security service employees suspect that the drivers responsible for transporting the sportswear and items were involved in the theft.
Currently, the England Football Association is cooperating with local police to recover the stolen items.
According to journalist Craig Hope, among the lost items are the boots of the team leaders - Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham. Additionally, the team has lost almost all of their training balls, with only one remaining at their disposal.
Moreover, tactical boards and other equipment of the coaching staff led by Thomas Tuchel were also stolen. This could create additional difficulties in preparing for the World Cup.
According to the source, law enforcement agencies have already begun an investigation. The drivers transporting the England team’s inventory are being considered as potential suspects.
The England Football Association has not yet issued an official statement regarding the situation.
