An active member of the armed wing of the "Batal-Haji Belkhoroyev" religious movement, banned in the country and recognized as a terrorist organization, has been apprehended by employees of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Investigative Committee (IC).
Medianews.az reports that the press service of the Investigative Committee's Ingushetia Investigation Department has released information about this. It is stated that a criminal case has been initiated against a 54-year-old resident of the republic for aiding terrorist activities. According to the investigation, in January 2025, the accused, as a member of a terrorist group banned in Russia, assisted local residents who were wanted. The detainee, Hasan Altemirov, was actually collaborating with the terrorists who attacked "Crocus City Hall."
Specifically, under the instructions of the group leaders, he provided at least three wanted members of the "Batal-Haji" religious movement with fake passports. Investigators especially emphasize the name of Batyr Kulaev among them, who armed terrorists participating in the concert hall attack. Kulaev used the fake document given by Altemirov to flee abroad and is currently still wanted. The Investigative Committee stated that this individual had previously been detained on suspicion of other criminal activities.
Pre-trial detention has been chosen as a preventive measure for Altemirov.
Recall that the terrorist act occurred in March 2024. Armed terrorists entered the concert hall before the "Picnic" group's performance and opened fire on the audience.
