A strong earthquake occurred in the northern region of Indonesia, in the waters of the Molucca Sea.

The earthquake, recorded at 06:31 Baku time, had its epicenter 138 kilometers north of the city of Ternate. According to the intensity of the tremors at the epicenter, the natural event is assessed as "quite strong."
The United States Geological Survey also determined the earthquake's magnitude to be 6.2. According to the agency's information, the hypocenter of the underground tremors was located at a depth of 120.9 km.
