After social media usage of influencer teachers, lawyers' social media usage is also being brought under control.
According to Milli.Az, the process of monitoring social media accounts of influencer teachers in Turkey will also cover lawyers.
The goal is to create a stricter control mechanism against unethical and illegal posts.
Turkey's Ministry of Education (MEB) will investigate complaints received by CİMER and MEBİM regarding influencer teachers and will check the social media accounts of teachers and administrators across 81 provinces. Teachers and administrators will face disciplinary punishment for posts violating the law, and those who share images without students' permission will receive severe reprimands. The reprimand will remain in the teachers' employment records for 5 years.
At the same time, lawyers' social media activities are also being brought under control. The Turkish Bar Association (TBB) will prepare social media usage rules for lawyers. The prepared rules will consider whether posts are for informational or advertising purposes, the protection of client confidentiality, and compliance with professional ethical standards.
