Warning from the doctor: ovarian reserve decreases in one out of every four women

Experts state that with the increase in the age of motherhood in women, the decrease in ovarian reserve has become a more serious problem.

Medianews.az reports that according to Turkish gynecologist Prof. Dr. Murat Ekin, ovarian reserve is high between the ages of 20-30, decreases after 30, and this process accelerates from 35 onward. Based on research, low ovarian reserve can be observed in one out of every four women.

The doctor notes that genetic factors, risk of early menopause, endometriosis, previous ovarian surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy increase this risk. At the same time, delay in marriage and having children also makes the situation more critical.

The specialist recommends staying away from stress, getting quality sleep, maintaining ideal weight, and regular exercise to preserve ovarian health. Avoiding smoking, alcohol, and harmful chemicals is also considered important.

Regarding nutrition, choosing the Mediterranean diet and avoiding fast food and high-sugar foods are advised. Products like almonds, walnuts, avocado, as well as vitamins A, C, D, E, and supplements such as omega-3, zinc, and selenium are reported to be beneficial.

Doctors emphasize the importance of monitoring ovarian reserve with the AMH test and ultrasound examination, and note that methods such as egg freezing can be applied when necessary.
