The Central Bank's Board of Directors made four decisions in 2026 regarding the discount rate (the interest rate on loans given to commercial banks in manat). On February 4, the discount rate was reduced from 6.75% to 6.5%, and on April 2, May 6, and June 24, this rate remained unchanged.
Medianews.az reports that the next decisions will be announced on the following dates: August 5, September 23, November 4, December 23.
The maximum discount rate was 13% in 2007 and 2018, 15% in 2008, 2016, and 2017, 5% in 2009 and 2012, 3% in 2010 and 2015, 5.25% in 2011, 4.75% in 2013, 4.25% in 2014, 9.25% in 2019, 7.25% in 2020, 2021, and 2025, 8.25% in 2022, 9% in 2023, and 7.75% in 2024.
