"Epstein scandal": The Prime Minister's spokesman resigned

The "Epstein scandal" in the British government has led to consecutive resignations at Downing Street.

"Qafqazinfo," citing "Sky News," reports that Prime Minister Keir Starmer's chief communications officer Tim Allan has resigned from his position.

The publication writes that this decision was made against the backdrop of tension arising around the country's former ambassador to the US, Peter Mandelson, and his connections to the scandalous financier Jeffrey Epstein. In his statement, Allan said he took this step to facilitate the establishment of a new team.

It should be noted that this is the second high-level resignation in the British government within the last 24 hours. Yesterday, the Prime Minister's chief of staff Morgan McSweeney also left his post for the same reason. McSweeney took responsibility for the decision to appoint Peter Mandelson as ambassador, admitting that this appointment was a mistake.

Recall that Starmer has already officially apologized to Epstein's victims and stated that Mandelson lied to him.
