The Kerbo meteorological station located in the Evenki district of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, has been the coldest place on Earth in the last 24 hours.
According to Oxu.az, this was reported by the Russian Hydrometeorological Center.
A record low temperature of -48.5 degrees was recorded at the station.
The press service stated that the second and third places in the world ranking for daily minimum temperatures were also occupied by Russian settlements.
At the Komaka meteorological station in the Lensky district of Yakutia, the temperature dropped to minus 47.9 degrees. In the village of Shelagontsy in the Olenyok district, a frost of 47.3 degrees was recorded.
