The President has been appointed for the 31st session (COP31) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties in Turkey.
AZERTAC reports that by the decision of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the country's Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum has been appointed as the President of UNFCCC COP31.
According to the decision published in the official gazette, the COP31 conference will be held from November 9 to 20, 2026, in Antalya, at the EXPO exhibition venue.
It is noted that within the framework of COP31, more decisive and purposeful steps are planned to be taken on climate action. The Turkish side has stated that it is ready to welcome the international community for COP31 in Antalya.
