The essence of Fire Wednesday expresses the belief that fire is sacred and will cleanse a person from all kinds of evil and harm, and that good will prevail.

This Wednesday originates from the ancient people's sacred belief in the Sun and fire. According to tradition, on this day, they light bonfires and jump over the flames to burn away all the dirt and troubles inside.

As with other Wednesdays, on Fire Wednesday, pots should be boiling, and the hearth should not be empty. Lighting fire and bonfires on this Wednesday signifies a warm and fruitful year.

Since ancient times, people have protected and respected fire. The lit bonfire has always symbolized something. This is also clearly seen in the "Book of Dede Korkut" epic. Long before Zoroastrianism, people symbolized fire in their imagination as the earthly symbol of the Sun, which revives nature and warms the soil. A belief arose that the more people cherish and caress the sun and fire, the faster nature warms up and brings happiness to people.

Let us remind that Wind Wednesday will be celebrated on March 10, and the last one - Earth Wednesday - on March 17.
