A mass event dedicated to the "Earth Hour 2026" international campaign was held jointly by IDEA Public Union, the official coordinator for Azerbaijan of the international "Earth Hour" campaign, and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
IDEA informed Medianews.az that nearly 80 institutions and organizations participating in the campaign turned off the facade lights of their administrative buildings for one hour starting from 20:30 local time.
In addition, hundreds of young people living in various cities and districts of our country individually joined this action, demonstrating solidarity in the direction of environmental protection.
The IDEA Public Union, the official coordinator of the international "Earth Hour" campaign for Azerbaijan, thanks all institutions, organizations, and individual participants who joined the "Earth Hour 2026" campaign held in our country this year.
It should be noted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of "Earth Hour" worldwide. Azerbaijan joined the list of countries supporting this global campaign in 2011 and since then the campaign has been held annually in our country with the support of IDEA.
As one of the largest movements dedicated to the environment in the world, "Earth Hour" mobilizes millions of people to stop climate change.
